Long-Distance Transport
- International Flights: Fly first to Algiers (ALG) or Oran (ORN), then take a domestic flight to Ghat or In Salah, followed by a 4–6 hour off-road vehicle transfer to Illizi.
- Road Travel: If driving from Algiers, follow National Route N1 across the Sahara. The journey spans approximately 1,500 km; we recommend traveling in groups of four or more and carrying a satellite phone.
Local Transportation
- In desert areas, rent a 4x4 vehicle (approximately 10,000 DZD/day, roughly 500 RMB). Tuareg guide fees are charged separately.
- Within the city, you can walk or take local "Mercedes vans" (shared taxis), with fares ranging from 50 to 100 DZD per trip.
